I never realized how much flowers made an impact until I gave them for a friend’s birthday. The grocery store bouquet I bought just didn’t cut it. It was flat, sad, and nowhere near the impact I wanted to make.
That’s when I started exploring flower deliveries in San Diego. Honestly, it was a game-changer. The florists here bring emotion and care right to someone’s doorstep.
Whether you’re celebrating a milestone or just want to brighten someone’s day, here are the best local options to trust with your special moments.
1. Allen’s Flowers & Plants

Address: 620 Market St, CA 92101
Contact: +1 619 233 7673
Operating Hours:
- Monday to Saturday: 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM
- Sunday 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM
When I first stepped into Allen’s Flowers, I thought I was just picking up a simple bouquet. Instead, I discovered why they’ve been San Diego’s go-to florist for 13 years running and a family-owned favorite for over 40.
From potted plants to blooming gardens, their selection is insane (in the best way). Every plant feels handpicked, and the trending containers make each piece Instagram-worthy.
I especially loved browsing their trees and other unique plant arrangements. They put thought not only into the flowers but into every item they sell.
Allen’s Flowers also knows how to make a good deal. They offer 30% off selected items, and they have a so-called “Allen’s Rewards” that gives clients even more discounts.
Every dollar spent earns a point toward discounts (delivery and tax excluded), and you can redeem them for future savings. Plus, you earn 50 Allen points just for signing up! That’s instant gratification for plant lovers like me.
The only downside is that they don’t offer full-scale event floral planning or large custom installations.
They looked exactly like the photo, if not better
“ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL arrangement! I highly recommend Allen’s Flowers to anyone and they have several locations! I ordered sympathy flowers and they looked exactly like the photo if not better! Just beautiful. And the recipient loved them.
Be mindful if you choose the option “deliver at anytime” on the date of your choice, they will deliver on that promised date but it may be in the evening depending how busy they are. Which was fine, but I was worried for sec that they forgot about my delivery since I got an email around 8pm that they were delivered. BUT I was happy to know that they don’t stop their day till all their promised deliveries are made. GREAT SERVICE! I will definitely be using their delivery service again! Their customer service was prompt in responding within business hours as well and addressing my concern.

The flowers arrived beautifully arranged and looked exactly like the photos
“I ordered flowers the day before my mom’s birthday and couldn’t be happier with the experience! I had a few questions and called customer support. Lisa answered and was incredibly friendly and helpful. The call didn’t feel rushed or scripted at all, which was such a nice change from most customer service experiences these days.
The flowers arrived beautifully arranged and looked exactly like the photos online – no surprises, just stunning, fresh blooms. My husband used to order flowers for me from Allen’s and they were always gorgeous, so I decided to try them myself this time after a really disappointing experience with Farmgirl Flowers (the bouquet looked nothing like the pictures). Never making that mistake again. Allen’s has definitely earned my loyalty!”

2. The Little Flower

Address: 5547 El Cajon Blvd, CA 92115
Contact: +1 619 269 2692
Operating Hours:
- Monday to Friday: 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM
- Saturday to Sunday: Closed
When my mom discovered The Little Flower, we immediately noticed how much care they put into every arrangement. This women-owned, independently operated boutique brings a personal touch to each creation.
Their in-house team of florists ensures that every arrangement is created with care and artistry, so your flowers look exactly as you imagined… or even better.
They also handle a variety of projects, from birthday bouquets to “just because” everyday flower deliveries. They even offer sympathy flowers.
One standout feature is their inclusion of extra gifts at a low price. They offer greeting cards, seasonal add-ons, and curated treats. Honestly, these elevate the experience of receiving flowers.
I also love that the boutique is celebrated by locals for its attention to detail and charming designs, while still maintaining fair prices.
However, The Little Flower does not cater to high-volume orders and creates only small, hand-crafted pieces. But you can ensure same-day delivery within the San Diego area (when ordered early).
The recipient was and is very happy with the bouquet they received
“Updated: I received clarification from the shop regarding concerns about a different bouquet being delivered than photos that were sent, and to be perfectly honest, at first I was convinced my concerns were being brushed under the rug because the email tone read a bit more short (but things can get lost in writing so maybe that wasn’t the intent, I don’t know), but since I was still unconvinced, I sat for a solid 30 minutes going between all 4 photos I had because I couldn’t see a similarity between the two bouquets until I started to look at only one photo from the delivery and one taken from before at the shop. And I will say, from the couple pictures I had, I still think anyone would believe they were different bouquets if I’m being totally honest, but after a long time analyzing, I felt relieved that the photos are one in the same. Just as the shop acknowledged in their email, the lighting caused a pretty dang dramatic shift in the colors of a few of the flowers. But just like I said to them in my email when I first reached out with a concern, even when I believed there was a mix-up, I thought the bouquet was very pretty and was happy with the results, as was the recipient (I wanted to stress to them and stress here the recipient is and was very pleased!). Obviously I’m really happy to know in the end things were as they always should have been, given how people and businesses tend to be these days and bad experiences I’ve had in the past, it was a genuine relief to know it was just a misunderstanding. The main things to note if you’re considering this florist: the recipient was and is very happy with the bouquet they received and I appreciated that they also followed up with the recipient to make sure they got the flowers. According to the recipient the flowers still are looking great almost 6 days after delivery, which tells me the shop used very fresh, quality flowers! Using the website was pretty easy and straightforward. I think their photos on the website are very indicative of the product they put out. Lastly, they are quick to respond to email inquiries, and this particularly is so important to anyone paying for flower delivery that doesn’t live locally where the flowers are being delivered! So thanks again to the shop for quick replies and addressing my concerns and making a bouquet that met my inspo request. I only send one bouquet a year in San Diego, but I’ll definitely be considering The Little Flower for next year’s birthday bouquet.”
My son called and was crying a bit, saying how beautiful the flowers were
“So very happy! We called last minute today to request a premium bouquet of the florists choice. I gave her guidance for colors, tropical variations and specifically request lilies. The florist not only took our last minute request but she really blew us away, my son called and was crying a bit saying how beautiful they were and how excited he was to give them to his girlfriend for her highschool graduation. I highly recommend this shop! Thank you so much for such a beautiful bouquet. It’s better than I imagined, my son said they were really fresh and high quality blooms. Thank you for taking our last minute request with all the orders for graduation you already had.
My son now knows the importance of planning ahead! Thank you Little Flower Florist! 🌺”

I thought Liz’s Flowers was just another local florist, but it didn’t take long to see there’s much more behind the name.
Established in 1990, they’ve spent decades perfecting arrangements that feel thoughtful and consistently well-made. Their status as a Premier Florist on BloomNation really backs up that reputation.
What stood out to me right away is how effortless ordering is. Whether you need a last-minute gift or are planning for a celebration, they offer plenty of payment options online and in-store. This takes a lot of stress out of the process.
Their website is another highlight. The extensive wedding flower gallery makes it easy to picture different styles and themes. Meanwhile, the sympathy and funeral gallery is especially helpful when making choices during emotional times.
Clients also often mention the convenience of same-day delivery in the San Diego area when ordered before 2 PM. The only drawback? They don’t offer real-time delivery tracking, which can be helpful when timing is critical.
It brought tears to my eyes because it was absolutely beautiful!
“My friend is currently at Kaiser Hospital on Zion Avenue, and I was looking for a nearby florist who could deliver flowers the same day. Many of the “recommended” florists in San Diego were quite expensive, and honestly, I didn’t think the arrangements matched their prices.
After some further research online, I discovered Liz’s Flowers, which is conveniently located right across the street from the hospital! I spoke with Liz, and she was wonderful. Check out her website; she has beautifully arranged flowers at very reasonable prices.
What really stands out about this floral shop is that Liz will send you a photo of your arrangement before delivering it. Unlike other floral shops I’ve dealt with in the past, this practice helps ensure that the arrangements meet your expectations. I have had many disappointments with different florists, but Liz reassured me that she wouldn’t disappoint and she sure didn’t!
She completed the arrangement in less than an hour and delivered it the same day. When I saw the arrangement, it brought tears to my eyes because it was absolutely beautiful! Although I don’t live in the area, I will be a customer for life and will reach out to Liz for all my future floral needs. If you have a loved one at Kaiser and want to brighten their day, or need flowers for any occasion, you can trust that Liz will make it happen!”

We had a beautiful venue, but the flowers really elevated the place
“We recently had our wedding at the Humphrey’s Half Moon Inn and we had Liz Flowers be our florist. From the beginning Liz has been involved and available to answer all of our questions. We went with a tropical theme, which we were told is the most costly. Liz still went above and beyond. When we arrived to the church, my bouquet was so beautiful. My daughter and Matron of Honor had her their own bouquets, and they were stunning. We also had corsages and boutonnieres for our family. When we arrived to the reception, the centerpieces and sweetheart table were stunning, we were speechless. There were so much vibrant colors. Birds of Paradise was one of our main themed flowers, and they aren’t the easiest to mix with other flowers due to their spikey like nature. But, Liz made them look so elegant, tasteful and unique. She also added the most beautiful flowers and palm leaves to the cake. We had a beautiful venue but the flowers really elevated the place. We were working with a really tight budget and Liz made it happen. Liz was kind, creative, talented and communicative. We highly recommend Liz Flowers for your wedding or party event.”

4. Eden Flowers & Gifts

Address: 5440 Clairemont Mesa Blvd # B1, CA 92117
Contact: +1 858 560 1370
Operating Hours:
- Monday to Friday: 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM
- Saturday to Sunday: Closed
Eden Flowers & Gifts is the kind of florist that genuinely cares about the reason you’re celebrating.
As a family-owned and operated business, they put real heart into delivering handcrafted floral arrangements for every occasion. They cater to weddings, birthdays, anniversaries, and more.
You can also tell they take pride in their work, especially their focus on using only the freshest flowers paired with thoughtful gifts and attentive customer care.
What I personally love is their European-style arrangements. They’re a refreshing change from the usual designs, offering a more elegant and refined look that feels personal rather than mass-produced.
While browsing, I noticed that their website makes the entire process easier as well. It clearly organizes flowers by occasion, so you’re never guessing what to choose.
Same-day flower delivery is a huge plus, especially for last-minute gifting. Local reviews consistently praise the flowers’ freshness, design quality, and friendly service. This reinforces the shop’s strong reputation.
The only drawback here: they don’t deliver to P.O. boxes. This may limit delivery options for some customers who use these addresses exclusively.
Super friendly and fast!
“Super friendly and fast! I walked in on a Saturday afternoon. They were near me on the map, never been before, just took a chance. They asked me how much I wanted to spend. Sometimes this means a florist can use filler to make a quick buck since they have your price already. At Eden they made me an awesome arrangement, they did it right away and it has lots nice flowers. I will definitely go back to them in the future!”

The flowers were so beautiful and reasonably priced
“My friend had just been admitted to the hospital to await a transplant. I wanted to send flowers to cheer her as she is far from family and friends.
I found Eden Flower’s online and ordered a bright and sunny bouquet early Friday afternoon. I purchased them from a state that’s an hour ahead of time and after completing the order saw I was minutes too late for same day delivery. That meant my friend would have to wait until Monday! I called Eden Flowers, explained all this and they were so kind to deliver them that day! My friend happened to be walking the halls and as she neared the nurses desk she saw a lovely bouquet and was thrilled to see they were for her! She sent me a photo and they were true to what I ordered online. The bouquet has lasted too. Because the flowers were so beautiful and reasonably priced I plan on sending her some more!
Thank you Eden Flowers! Lord bless you and your business!”

5. Genesee Florist

Contact: +1 858 278 4220
Operating Hours:
- Monday to Friday: 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM
- Saturday: 9:00 AM – 2:00 PM
- Sunday: Closed
Proudly serving San Diego for over 44 years, Genesee Florist is a family-owned business that has built a reputation for delivering flowers that feel genuinely well-made.
What really sets them apart is their design approach. Every arrangement is created by their in-house team of botanical engineers, and you can tell there’s real intention behind each piece.
They also offer same-day delivery on fresh arrangements, which makes them a reliable choice whether you’re planning or scrambling at the last minute.
I was especially impressed by how they honor last-minute flower requests, even keeping pre-arranged bouquets available next door at the taco shop, which is both clever and incredibly convenient.
Beyond flowers, the shop is also known for its “Wine and Design” events. It’s great for a private gathering with friends or joining one of their floral design workshops. It’s a nice way to learn floral design while enjoying good company and a glass of wine.
One downside mentioned by some customers is that Genesee Florist focuses exclusively on floral arrangements and events. Separate vendors should handle services such as balloon styling or extensive event decor.
Needless to say, it was everything I wanted – and more
“If you want stunning arrangements, exceptional service, and reasonable pricing, this is your San Diego florist!
In need of a special Thanksgiving Day bouquet for my sister and her family, I chose Genesee Florist for their lovely, dried flower arrangements. The website photos were close to, but not quite what I wanted – so I picked up the phone and called. Doug answered. If only there were more Dougs in this world! We discussed what I wanted, agreed on the colors, the vase, the price, and the delivery date. Doug’s so knowledgeable, so accommodating, and even texted a photo of the finished product to me before delivery. Needless to say, it was everything I wanted – and more.
My sister was awestruck – and thrilled that she now has a vibrant piece of art, really, that will last a very long time for them to enjoy.
Give Genesee Florist a call – or order directly from their website. You won’t be disappointed!”

I’m blown away! Beyond what I thought I’d get for the price
“I live in Vegas, and found this flower shop on google aftering looking for a local florist near my friends house in San Diego. I’d rather do local business than large corporations. I’d never seen their work, I couldn’t find the website, but I called and the woman who helped me was quick, clear, and no nonsense. I told her the situation, my budget and she created this order with no guidance from me, other than bright and happy (my friends puppy passed away). This was also same day delivery…
You can see what they created, they texted me these pictures. I’m blown away! Beyond what I thought I’d get for the price and zero creative input from me.
Beyond happy!
Please, order from them for any floral needs, they obviously are fabulous at their jobs!
Thank you, so much. You never know what you’re going to get when you order blind. I’m pleased as punch.”
