How much do general contractors charge in San Diego?
General contractors in San Diego typically charge around $100 and $300+ per square foot for remodeling projects. This depends on the scope of work and complexity, labor rates, material selections, permit fees, age of home, and accessibility.

TR Construction has been working in San Diego since 1994. They have been around for over 30 years, handling thousands of homes in the county and the Temecula area.
We like that they are family-owned and are hands-on with their work. Their company operates as a full-service general contractor, specializing in roofing, electrical, and related services.
The company also carries a California “B” General Building license, as well as extra permits for roofing (C-39) and painting (C-33). This isn’t common for small contractors, so we think this would help buyers feel confident about their legal and safety standards.
It’s convenient that they have expanded over the years from basic roofing into more complex remodels too. Notable ones are their solar panel systems, painting, and kitchen and bathroom renovations.
And if you need it, among their best outdoor services is hardscaping, which includes patios, retaining walls, and other masonry work.
However, a client we spoke with reports that the staff’s communication can be slower at times, especially for minor follow-ups. To reach them, it’s better to call rather than send a message or email.

ASAP Remodeling is a licensed, bonded, and insured general contractor that specializes in kitchen and bathroom remodeling. They also do cabinet work and other general home improvement projects in North San Diego County.
They were founded in 2015, which we believe gives them mid-level experience with small- to midsize remodeling projects. Instead of huge custom-home builds, their work covers more specific jobs and handyman-style work.
In our view, this can make them more flexible and faster for homeowners who want a quick refresh. This seems in line with their core values of fast response (as reflected in their name, ASAP), strong communication, and hands-on craftsmanship.
As a one-stop shop, the company also offers electrical and minor plumbing tasks. This way, you won’t need to hire a separate electrician for other upgrades.
When it comes to rates, their typical job range is very broad. This ranges from around $125 for small handyman tasks to roughly $100,000 for large kitchen or whole-bath remodels.
Just remember that they are not a huge firm. Their capacity for very large, multi-month custom builds is more limited than that of bigger contractors.

Kanna Construction specializes in home remodeling and custom-home projects. They launched as a company in 2020, so they seem relatively new compared to 30-year-old veterans.
Still, we find it incredible that they carry a California General Contractor license and an active BBB file. We reckon this can give clients peace of mind about paperwork, complaints, and other basic standards.
Plus, what sets them apart is their ability to handle a wide range of home projects. This goes from small bathroom remodels to large custom homes and additions.
Another thing we appreciate is their transparency with the rates. The team openly lists a typical job-cost range of $5,000 up to roughly $2,000,000.
Because of this, this firm isn’t the cheapest option for basic handyman-style work. This seems quite reasonable, though, since their crew is set up more for full remodeling and personalized builds.

Oasis Renovation & New Construction is a San Diego-based general contractor company that works mainly on kitchen and bathroom remodeling, complete home remodels, and new construction work.
They are led by Tom Rosenberg, who’s listed as both the registered agent and the hands-on owner. We are a fan of how people can interact with him directly. He’s involved in every project, making communication a breeze.
His company was officially incorporated in California in 2018, but Tom had already been doing similar renovation work under other business structures for over 15 years.
As for their rates, they usually charge about $20,000 to $500,000 for mid-range jobs. These numbers still align with San Diego market costs—neither too cheap nor ultra-premium.
The only thing we are disappointed about is that they aren’t for “set it and forget it” clients. The crew works best with those willing to stay involved, ask questions, and review plans.
For one, a client shared with us that complex projects can stretch this company’s owner-run capacity, causing some misunderstandings along the way.
