My friend recently decided to work remotely, and at first, it sounded like a dream. Until reality hit her, by way of the neighbor’s barking dog, the kid’s yelling, and the bleak yard view from her office/guestroom.
At the time, she was barely getting through emails (and also getting clients). Then, she decided to rent a coworking space.
Fast forward a few months, her productivity’s up, her clients have tripled, and she never looked back.
So, if you’re in San Diego and ready to upgrade your workday, here are the best coworking spaces in the city!
How much does it cost to rent a coworking space in San Diego?
Renting a coworking space in San Diego can cost anywhere from $25 for a day pass to over $100 per month for a private office. Monthly hot desk memberships usually start around $300 to $400.
Many spaces include extras like free coffee, meeting rooms, and high-speed Wi-Fi.
1. Downtown Works

Website: https://www.downtownworks.com/
Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/downtownworks
Contact Details: +1 619-771-0795

Downtown Works was built by entrepreneurs for entrepreneurs. Its flagship location sits right in Downtown San Diego, just steps from the Santa Fe Depot train and trolley station, and a short stroll from the Embarcadero.
We love that workers can work indoors or outdoors (rooftop deck, patio). This helps them enjoy San Diego’s lovely weather while working.
Members get more than just a place to plug in—they also have unlimited access to workshops and networking events. And the office has a full-service team that’s always around to help; however, we did hear about less-than-friendly interactions.
Now, let’s talk about the perks—you’d get your morning coffee fix, snacks, and even cold craft beer in the afternoon.
As a bonus, you can also choose from various packages, from Works Basic to fully private offices.
One of the nicest co-working spaces I’ve worked out of
“This is one of the nicest co-working spaces I’ve worked out of. The staff are super friendly and accommodating. Candace, Alyssa and Heaven are helpful and so sweet, and they put a high value on customer service. I love that the Downtown Works teams organizes many events and happy hours, and there are SO many opportunities for networking. This is a space that feels as comfortable as stepping into my own home office, but offers the structure of the office and opportunity for social interaction daily. If you are in the market for an upscale co-working space that offers community, comfort, and connection, Downtown Works is your answer.”

Awesome coworking space with incredibly kind and friendly staff

I died and went to co-working heaven
“I died and went to co-working heaven. It’s not often that you go to a co-working space and wish this were your daily office space. I’ve been a digital nomad for the past three year,s trying different spaces around the US and Venture X is by far the best co-working space. Friendly staff, outdoor spaces, comfortable chairs and spacious standing desks, big monitors, great kitchen amenities and freebies, pay and go snack bar, soundproof private booths, and privacy rooms. Thanks Venture X, you thought of everything!”
