A friend of mine was trying to find an office space in San Diego and felt totally overwhelmed by the endless listings and confusing terms. Plus, whenever she checked out spaces in person or virtually, nothing felt right.
She almost gave up until we sat down, did the legwork, and found some amazing spots that checked all the boxes.
It turns out that there are office rentals in San Diego that are both functional and inspiring. You just have to know where to look.
So, we’re diving into San Diego’s best office rentals that offer a mix of convenience and style. Let’s find your new work home.
How much does renting an office space cost in San Diego?
Renting an office space in San Diego typically costs between $1,850 and $3,850 monthly for a 1,000 sq. ft. space.
Class A offices average around $46.25 per sq. ft. annually (about $3.85/month/sq ft), while Class B spaces are closer to $3.04/month/sq ft.
Premium locations like Downtown or UTC can be on the higher end, especially with modern amenities.

Venture X has been offering workplace solutions since 2012. Their San Diego location is in a modern three-story building, taking over the entire 2nd floor with a spacious 20,000+ square feet setup.
Inside, you’ll find 97 turn-key private offices, with pricing that starts at $600 per month. We think this is pretty fair considering everything you’d get.
For instance, each office comes with high-speed internet, an ergonomic chair, reception services, daily janitorial cleaning, and 24/7 access. There’s even a cozy cafe and lounge space, which has unlimited gourmet coffee, tea, and water.
If you’re hosting a work event, they have a pretty flexible event space. It can handle everything—from corporate trainings and board meetings to mixers, product launches, and panel discussions.
One downside we heard about is their tricky parking situation.
Dollar for dollar, Venture X offers more benefits
“I started renting an office from VentureX about a year ago after I was co-working closer to downtown. Dollar for dollar, VentureX offers more benefits and is a far nicer office than you’ll find. Already renewed for another year.”

A beautiful space with top-notch amenities
“A beautiful space with top-notch amenities. All of the desks are adjustable sit/stand desks. The space is quiet, so you can concentrate or take calls. But also has plenty of other folks in the office in case you feel like chatting or taking a break. The owners are very accommodating and will go the extra mile to make you feel welcome. There is a nursing room for mothers and an outdoor space for enjoying the sunshine. What more could you ask for?? Highly recommend!”

Pretty spacious and affordable
“I came in a few days ago for a tour of the offices. The manager Nikki helped me out and I have to say she was very on point. I threw many questions at her and she was very knowledgeable. She made me feel very welcome and comfortable. The offices are pretty spacious and affordable. This is a great space to network and socialize with other business owners as well.I am looking forward to renting an office and meeting more people like her.”

One of the best places I’ve rented from
“Absolutely fantastic office space and environment. Perfect for small firms or businesses. Great atmosphere with local, professional, and ambient artwork that rotates on and off the walls all around the building. A friendly and warm Staff that can do a ton of work to help you. Full service copy/scan/printer, business oriented with a fax machine as well. One of the best places I’ve rented from. Highly, highly, recommend.”

The atmosphere is beautiful and inviting
“We have been at SmartSpace now for 6 Years. The atmosphere is beautiful and inviting. The services that are offered surpass any office building we have ever rented in our 35 years of business. The full-time manager, Courtney, is awesome. She greets our clients, handles our mail, packages, and deliveries. She makes sure that everything runs smoothly. There are three beautiful conference rooms, and the artwork is breathtaking. Included in the rent is phone service, fax machine, copy machines, internet access, mailbox box and a fully equipped kitchen. Outside is a beautiful Zen garden where you can relax. And they are a dog-friendly building. Who could ask for anything more?”

This place blew me away
“I needed a place to work for a few hours before checking into a conference hotel. So, I’m a first-time WeWorker. This place blew me away. It’s so nice, so clean, great amenities, wonderful front desk helpers. There are several floors of open space, quiet “phonebooths” for calls, and garage doors that open onto a beautiful patio for taking in the fine San Diego weather. A stocked coffee bar. I’m a complete convert. I’ll never huddle in another loud, crowded coffee shop again to get work done.”
