Her team handles all the heavy lifting in space planning to ensure your layout is perfect. They specialize in contemporary styles that work for both residential homes and commercial businesses.
Bita also offers a free initial consultation, which is great because you can talk about your budget and needs without any pressure. I sat down with her for a quick chat last week, and her passion for custom furniture and exclusive materials is totally infectious.
One downside is that walk-ins aren’t available on the weekends, so you definitely have to schedule ahead. Plus, her focus is very much on a modern aesthetic, so it might not work if you want something very traditional.

Founded by Kelly Hinchman, Studio H is a nationally recognized firm featured in major publications such as Architectural Digest.
They have an edgy, sophisticated style that really stands out if you’re looking for something other than the standard beach-house look. They even have their own line of custom home furnishings, designed entirely in-house.
I love how their process is very collaborative, and they stay with you from the first sketch through the final install. So, if you want a team that acts as an owner’s representative on a large project, they have the experience to do so.
But they do call themselves “rule breakers,” which might be a bit too much if you prefer a very conservative or quiet look. They also close quite early on Fridays, which is something to keep in mind.

Managed by Danni and Carol Kaplan, this team is a powerhouse in luxury staging and quick design fixes. They have a massive 15,000-square-foot warehouse full of high-end furniture, which means you aren’t waiting months for furniture delivery in San Diego.
Their “insta-home” service is pretty wild because they can fully set up a home in just a few weeks. Also, they offer à la carte services, so you can get expert advice without having to pay for a giant design package you don’t need.
The only real catch is that they only serve specific areas like San Diego and Los Angeles, so they aren’t an option for out-of-town projects.
And though they’re very efficient, the vibe can sometimes feel a bit more temporary than a full architectural remodel, since they do a lot of staging

A friend of mine actually hired Hope for a kitchen remodel, and her focus on eco-friendly practices really improved the air quality and overall feel of the house.
Hope Pinc is a LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design)-certified designer, so she integrates sustainable principles into every home she touches.
Her style is very warm and playful, which is a nice change of pace from the stark, cold designs you often see.
I like that she offers very flexible hourly consultations, which are perfect if you just need some professional advice on colors or layout. She also handles full construction documents if you are doing a bigger renovation.
If you are looking for a strictly ultra-minimalist or industrial look, however, her Hawaiian-inspired warmth might not match your vision.
