It wasn’t surprising, since their team includes board-certified dermatologists. These specialists know basic skin cancer screenings to complex Mohs surgery, which is a precise surgical technique used to treat skin cancer.
They also tailor the procedure perfectly to the mole’s size and location, keeping any visible scarring to an absolute minimum. A patient we spoke to was happy with the almost invisible mark after her mole removal.
But you need to pin them down on pricing before your appointment. Some patients mention that the initial cost estimates for cosmetic removals ended up slightly different from what the clinic staff later charged.
A very pleasant experience
I had a consultation at La Jolla Cosmetic Laser Clinic & Dermatology and it was a very pleasant experience. I was greeted warmly by the receptionist, offered water, and the electronic forms were easy to complete. My consultation with Tammy was extremely informative — she was knowledgeable, answered all my questions, and showed me before/after photos. I never felt rushed and felt completely comfortable throughout. After months of researching procedures, I felt confident enough to book my appointment. Scheduling was easy, and the receptionist also explained parking to avoid tickets. I will update this review after my procedure and any follow-up.

The doctor was perfect
Great first time experience. Warm and friendly front office team, Kimberly who took me back was amazing and the doctor was perfect. Went in to check out one spot but doctor did a quick full face and head scan and gave recommendations/solutions. Will definitely go back. Grateful they got me in last minute.

Informative and warm
My son has the mole in the middle of his forehead, it turns worse these days. We are very worried about that. Dr. Mafong is informative and warm. The sentence he said” if he is my son, I would…” calms me down. In addition, I’m self-pay, today is my first visit, they did not ask me pay a penny. Look forward to two weeks later check, hope everything goes well.

One of our trusted clinics is SKY Facial Plastic Surgery, which focuses on face and neck aesthetics.
One of their specializations is facial mole removal that restores your natural contour while significantly reducing visible scarring.
The clinic is led by Dr. Sirius K. Yoo, an impressive double board-certified facial plastic surgeon who trained at Stanford University. He uses local anesthetics to keep the quick procedure comfortable, usually taking stitches out within just a week.
When we spoke with a previous patient who visited their clinic for a prominent cheek mole, he said that his recovery was incredibly fast with barely a mark left behind.
However, keep in mind that cosmetic surgery expectations can be tricky to manage. A few patients felt that post-procedure concerns weren’t addressed quite as quickly or clearly as they had hoped during the healing process.
Super responsive to all my questions
The office staff was super responsive to all my questions before even setting up the appointment. They called and gave me very clear and detailed answers. And they actually helped me better define what I was looking for. At the actual appointment with Dr. Yoo I was impressed by his friendly yet very forthcoming with what would be needed to get the results I needed. I loved that he didn’t overpromise and how flexible they were on scheduling any procedures.

We appreciate the expertise of Dr. Anne K. Truitt, who heads up the practice. As a board-certified dermatologist and fellowship-trained Mohs surgeon, she can ensure the best possible medical and cosmetic outcomes.
Another perk is the clinic’s Saturday availability, which is convenient for busy professionals.
On the downside, their follow-up support can sometimes feel a bit lacking. Some folks we spoke with hoped for a more efficient system regarding post-procedure inquiries.

Torrey Pines Dermatology & Laser Center earns a spot on our list for providing comprehensive evaluations of atypical moles and routine melanoma risk assessments. This way, they can catch problems early.
Dr. Kristen Richards, a double board-certified dermatologist, runs the clinic alongside a solid team of providers. They handle general skin care, cosmetic dermatology, and serious surgical needs all in one equipped office.
They also use the advanced PiQo4 laser, which does an awesome job treating specific pigmented lesions, sun damage, and unwanted moles.
But you need to be extremely clear about costs before agreeing to any cosmetic work. Several patients felt frustrated by limited flexibility when trying to resolve billing disputes, noting that their final charges didn’t match the original quotes.
