The 5 Best Stucco Contractors in San Diego for a Flawless Finish

We extensively test and research all services we review. Here's why you can trust us.

Field Experience: I looked for contractors with years of active service in the local area. That helps show they understand San Diego’s coastal moisture, heat, and exterior wall issues.

Material Quality: I focused on companies that use reputable stucco systems and durable finishes. Better materials matter when you want a surface that resists flaking, fading, and moisture problems.

Communication and Technology: I paid attention to companies that keep clients updated through clear communication, owner access, or digital project tools. A smoother update process can prevent confusion about timelines and invoices.

Warranty and Accountability: A contractor that stands behind the work gives homeowners more confidence. I favored teams with written warranties, strong project oversight, and Better Business Bureau (BBB) recognition where available.

Finding a reliable stucco contractor in San Diego matters when coastal salt air, sun, and shifting temperatures start wearing down exterior walls.

Whether you’re patching a hairline crack or planning a new build, the right crew can help prevent water damage and keep the finish looking clean.

I looked for local contractors who understand San Diego materials, building needs, and finishes, from smooth Santa Barbara styles to heavier lace textures.

How much does stucco cost in San Diego?

Most San Diego stucco projects cost $7 and $18 per square foot, though the final cost depends on the finish, prep work, and repair needs.

Typical 2,000 Sq. Ft. Home$12,000 – $30,000+

Address: Service areas

Contact: (619) 230-5203

Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM; Saturday, 8:00 AM – 1:00 PM

Looking at your home’s exterior can feel stressful once cracks or staining start to show, but Sunny Coast Stucco makes the process feel more manageable.

I like that President Andy Estrada stays close to projects, because owner involvement can make a big difference when you want accountability.

The team specializes in a durable three-layer stucco system and has experience working with homeowner associations (HOAs), so strict community standards should not throw them off.

Their use of Omega Products is another plus for homeowners who care about long-term material quality. They also handle technical details like weep screed compliance, which helps drain moisture at the base of the wall.

The main drawback is cost. They’re not positioned as the cheapest option, and the Sunday closure makes weekend coordination less flexible.

Pros

  • Over 20 years of local trade experience
  • In-house custom color-matching lab
  • Fully licensed, bonded, and insured
  • A+ Better Business Bureau (BBB) rating and Elite Award winner

Cons

  • Not the lowest price point available
  • Limited weekend office hours

Seamlessly integrating rough-textured stucco

Sunny Coast Stucco completely revamped the area above and around our garage door, seamlessly integrating rough-textured stucco with smooth-textured decorative trim. The transformation from wood siding and trim was impressive. Andy, the owner, sets the standard with his honesty and strong work ethic, which is reflected in the professionalism and creativity of his crew. We are thrilled with the result, and highly recommend Sunny Coast Stucco, you won’t be disappointed!

Communication and attention to detail was exceptional

Andy and his team repaired the exterior stucco on a condo we own in San Diego. We hired him on the recommendation of others that had had work done by him. The communication and attention to detail was exceptional. Since we don’t live in SD, Andy sent us regular videos and photos of the work. The other condo owners were notified in advance of the work that was being done, and the job site was clean after each workday. We really appreciated his integrity and strong work ethic.

2. MR. STUCCO MAN, INC

Hours: Monday-Friday, 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM

Decades of local knowledge can make or break a stucco project, especially in San Diego’s coastal climate.

MR. STUCCO MAN, INC. has been working around the county since 1990. That experience shows in the way they handle repairs, water intrusion, and architectural foam.

I also like their personalized setup. A skilled tradesperson stays dedicated to the project from start to finish, which can make the job feel less scattered.

Their client portal is useful too, especially if you want progress updates without chasing people by phone.

However, they only operate Monday through Friday, so project questions need to happen during the workweek. They also focus strictly on San Diego County, which may not work for properties just outside the area.

Pros

  • Over 30 years of San Diego experience
  • Online portal for transparent management
  • Specializes in complex water intrusion
  • Thousands of completed local projects

Cons

  • Strictly closed on weekends
  • Limited to San Diego County only

The place looks like new

Bottom of stucco walls were in very bad shape. Mr. Stucco Man came all the way up to Fallbrook, did a great prep/removal job, professional patch and repair matching the existing stucco. Left the place clean and ready for paint too. Now the paint is done and the place looks like new. Thanks Guys!!

Worth every penny

Everything from the estimate process to getting the work completed was fantastic. I wish everyone did business like Mr. Stucco Man. Everyone was very responsive throughout the whole process. Very happy with the outcome of stucco repairs done to my house. Worth every penny!

3. Apptek Stucco

Hours: Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM

Apptek Stucco is a strong fit when a project needs precision, especially on custom homes or larger exterior upgrades.

A buddy of mine used them on a custom estate build and liked how their digital field system kept the crew working from the latest plans.

The company name stands for Applied Technology, and that approach shows through their Tyvek Certified Installer status. In plain terms, they know how to install the moisture barrier under the stucco properly, which helps prevent hidden rot.

When you’re upgrading the exterior, it can also make sense to compare roofing companies so the whole envelope stays watertight.

Apptek also offers a two-year written warranty and is known for high-end, smooth, Venetian, and Santa Barbara finishes.

With a large team and a bigger project focus, they may feel less ideal for tiny patch repairs.

Pros

  • Double the standard industry warranty
  • Tyvek Certified moisture barrier installers
  • High-end smooth and Venetian finishes
  • Digital systems for high project accuracy

Cons

  • Less ideal for small-scale repairs
  • Large regional footprint feels less personal

Reliable and skilled stucco companies

I’ve been working with Apptek for over a decade and they’re one of the most reliable and skilled stucco companies I’ve come across. Their workmanship is always excellent, communication is easy and they take real pride in what they do. As a general contractor, it’s a huge relief knowing the job will be done right every time.

A trusted partner

At Silver Sparrow Homes, we’ve had the pleasure of working with Apptek Stucco for approximately 10 years now. As a general contracting company, we value having reliable subcontractors, and Apptek consistently delivers exceptional work. Their professionalism, quality, and commitment to each project have made them a trusted partner. We look forward to continuing to work with them on future projects!

4. San Diego Stucco, Inc.

Address: Areas served

Contact: (760) 415-6041

Hours: Monday-Saturday, 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM

San Diego Stucco, Inc. makes sense if your renovation involves more than the exterior.

The company handles both stucco and drywall, which is helpful when a project touches exterior walls and interior living areas at the same time.

I like that they emphasize clear communication, because wall projects can quickly become frustrating when updates are vague.

Their team also uses premium materials and has more than 20 years of trade experience, so they are not learning on your home.

If your project includes stone or brickwork, you may still want to compare masonry contractors for a more complete exterior plan.

The downside is that they don’t offer painting services, so you may still need a separate painter once the stucco work is finished.

Pros

  • Dual specialty in stucco and drywall
  • Over two decades of trade expertise
  • Open for business on Saturdays
  • High-quality premium material focus

Cons

  • May require a separate painting contractor

Delivered on consistency and quality

As a spec home builder, we value consistency and quality, and this stucco company delivered on both. The work was well executed, timelines were met, and the site was kept clean and organized. A solid partner we would recommend without hesitation.

Would hire again

Jesus and San Diego Stucco provided very competitive and excellent quality work when refinishing our original house stucco. They replaced with a Santa Barbara smooth steel troweled finish, other installers we contacted did not have that specialty in house. Great at daily cleanup and providing color samples ahead of the work. Would hire again.

5. Lemon Grove Stucco Inc

Website: https://lemongrovestucco.com/

Address: 1057 Elkelton Blvd, Spring Valley

Contact: (619) 482-0022

Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM

There is something reassuring about a contractor that has operated under the same name and ownership since 1986. Lemon Grove Stucco Inc feels especially grounded because owners Cliff and Joyce Davenport are still active in the business.

I like their hyper-local reference approach. Their “mile-radius” rule means they can show past jobs near your home, which makes it easier to picture the finished result.

The crew stability is another standout. They have an average employment time of 18 years and one journeyman who has been there for more than three decades.

They also own a showroom and warehouse, making it easy to check their stucco textures in person.

The tradeoff is price and scope. They’re upfront about landing in the higher price range and focus more on sandblasting and re-stucco than quick minor patch jobs.

Pros

  • Same ownership and name since 1986
  • Hyper-local reference list for every client
  • Owns a dedicated showroom and warehouse
  • Recipient of the BBB Integrity Award

Cons

  • Higher-end upper 3/4 price range
  • Focused on large re-stucco, not tiny patches

Quality work and great customer service

Lemon Grove Stucco Co. did a fantastic job on our home. Not only was the end result beautiful, they were very accommodating. We had to reschedule a few times and they were very understanding. Quality work and great customer service. We highly recommend them!

On time and on budget

Cliff is a total pro! He and his crew did a great job on my whole-home re-stucco. Everyone was professional and easy to get along with. I had some strict requirements, as I was working to obtain historic designation for my home, and Cliff was more than up to the task. They were on time and on budget, and I’m very pleased with their work.
