Delicious coffee with a smile, very delicious coffee, great atmosphere. If you come to the mid morning time, you might invest some time in waiting since all is freshly brewed for your liking. For our kids the baked cinnamon bun were a must.

WOW!! I have never had my expectations blown away by a coffee place before. The food here (I got the blackberry nut muffin) IS THE BEST! I also got coffee, the brew was strong, the way I ordered, and the nut milk was very yummy. There is an array of items on the menu that could fill anyone’s coffee and snack desires. I am so shocked by the prices too, so cheap for San Diego! I will come again.

Spill the Beans Coffee and Bagels is the kind of place I immediately think of when a simple coffee run inevitably turns into a full breakfast stop.
The shop brilliantly pairs artisanal espresso drinks with daily scratch-made bagels and an impressive variety of custom compound butters. There are even enough savory sandwich options to make the visit feel like a substantial meal.
In my last visit here, I found that their darker, more robust espresso roast held up beautifully beside a heavily seasoned garlic-herb bagel.
That seamless balance between a serious coffee program and a high-quality food menu is definitely the main draw for me.
I’m just a bit iffy about the service speed here. Because the counter handles a significant amount of fresh-food prep to order, wait times can be noticeably longer than at a beverage-only cafe, especially during the busy morning rush.

Service Was Excellent
My ice coffee was good, but not good enough to wait in a long line for. As, I was staying by a hotel nearby and often saw a long line going out the door. However, the service was excellent, prices fair, and the place itself seems inviting. Cannot speak on the bagels, but they did look appetizing.

Drank some yummy coffees at Communal Coffee! We ordered salted caramel and banana caramel lattes and really liked them. Lots of indoor seating, with a few outdoor as well. Friendly service and don’t need to wait too long. Recommend!

After spending an afternoon exploring some of San Diego’s popular breweries, I found that stopping here for a sweet, creamy treat was a highly refreshing palate cleanser.
I also tried their food options, which feature excellent savory options like hot breakfast paninis that pair beautifully with the bold, robust flavors of their signature dark roasts.
Whenever I visit, I make sure to grab a spot at their pet-friendly outdoor sidewalk seating to quietly watch the city go by.
Just keep in mind that their strict focus on traditional Italian preparations means you won’t find the bright, experimental pour-over options commonly offered at specialized micro-roasteries.

It Was So Good
Came here just to get a coffee fixed before heading to the Farmers market and it was really a hidden gem! Husband and friends all ended up getting the Iced Vietnamese Latte because it was that good! We ordered just one to try and it was so good that 2 others just ordered the same thing after that. Definitely recommend!
