| Age Group / Facility Type | Monthly Cost Range |
| Infants (Preschool or Learning Center) | $1,900 – $2,600 |

1. San Diego Brighter Day Care

Website:http://www.sandiegobrighterdaycare.com/
Address: 2960 Poinsettia Dr
Contact: (619) 345-4300
Hours: Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM – 5:30 PM
Searching for a cozy environment often leads parents to this state-certified home daycare. It stands out because it introduces math and language to tiny learners through music and dance, making the day feel warm rather than overly academic.
The small class sizes are a real strength because children get plenty of one-on-one time with caregivers. I also like that the home is pet-free and smoke-free, which helps if your child is sensitive to common irritants.
Another notable safety step is their policy requiring parents to show proof of COVID-19 vaccination.
The main drawback is the number of holiday closures, including Juneteenth, which may leave families with less flexible work schedules needing backup care.

My daughter was super comfortable and happy there
My family and I absolutely loved Brighter Day Daycare! As first time parents, my husband and I were a bit nervous to send our daughter to daycare at such a young age but after the first few days we knew we made a great decision! Pyone and her other staff took such great care of our daughter and I could tell my daughter was super comfortable and happy there! If we ever come back to San Diego and our daughter is still young, we will definitely be sending our daughter back there!

Bright light in this world
SD Brighter Daycare was a bright light in this world for our family. Pyone helped raise my two boys. Her love, understanding, consistency, and patience shows in everything she does. Pyone became family in the three years our boys were able to attend Brighter Daycare. I have never felt so at ease leaving my children any place. I always knew she had their best interest in mind.

2. ABC Little Hands

Website:https://abclittlehandsinfo.wixsite.com/
Address: 1050 B St Unit 2304
Contact: (619) 616-8880
Hours: Infant Program, 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM; Toddler/Preschool, 7:30 AM – 4:30 PM
ABC Little Hands has been family-run for more than 20 years, and that experience shows in its bilingual curriculum.
The program blends language, culture, art, and music in a way that feels natural rather than forced. I recently chatted with a local mom whose toddler attends, and she loved how quickly her child started picking up Spanish vocabulary.
Another big plus is that they serve fully organic meals that follow MyPlate standards. They even offer a Parents’ Night Out drop-in session for parents who need a break.
Just keep in mind that the language focus is limited to English and Spanish immersion. Also, the infant program also has shorter hours than many traditional centers.

Our children were happy and well cared for
Ximena and her staff were wonderful with our twins. Caring for twins is no easy task, but they were attentive, loving, and made us feel completely at ease. Our children were happy and well cared for, and we’re grateful to have found such a reliable and trustworthy team. Would definitely recommend if you are in the are and looking for quality care.

Every drop off she would just shine and smile
We brought our daughter here for a little more than two month. She was 4.5 month old when she started. It was her first time. As a new dad I was little worried that it might change her. I lost my worries very fast once we got into a routine. Every drop off she would just shine and smile at her care taker. It always felt that our girl got lots of love and great care.

3. Childtime of San Diego

Website:https://www.childtime.com/
Address: 8111 New Salem Street
Contact: (877) 216-0959
Hours: Monday-Friday, 6:30 AM – 6:00 PM
If you like staying connected during the day, Childtime of San Diego makes that easier with the SproutAbout app. With this, parents can get real-time updates and even access live streaming video of their child’s classroom, which can bring a lot of peace of mind.
The center also offers a Transitional Kindergarten (TK) Plus program for four- and five-year-olds preparing for the next step. I also like that they provide busing from several local elementary schools for before- and after-school care.
Although it’s a larger learning center, the layout still aims for a homey feel. They have a strict reservation policy, though. You need to call at least 48 hours ahead to secure a spot, so this setup may not work for last-minute care needs.

We love this daycare. My daughter has been going here for 2 years and the teachers and management care about the kids and are absolutely great. It has a nice playground, and my daughter loves her outside time and gets exposed to new foods, crafts, and age-appropriate lessons. Highly recommend!

We appreciate all the hard work
We have been sending our elementary-aged kids to Child time for 2 years now. They really enjoy the activities the center organizes for them and we appreciate all the hard work the staff put in. The kids get a snack everyday along with outside playtime and time and help for homework. I recommend Childtime over other after-school programs.

4. Ridge City Preschool & Daycare

Website:http://www.ridgecitykids.com/
Address: 6866 Linda Vista Road
Contact: (858) 277-1442
Hours: Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM – 5:30 PM
Ridge City Preschool & Daycare is a nurturing center with a Christian-based curriculum and regular chapel days for families who value a spiritual foundation. When I looked through the program, the safety focus stood out right away.
Every lead teacher is certified in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and first aid, which is reassuring for parents of young children. The center also keeps a strictly nut-free facility, which can be a huge relief for families dealing with food allergies.
I also like that infants and one-year-olds learn sign language to communicate before they can speak.
The main things to note here are the fit and cost. In particular, their faith-based curriculum may not suit every family, and their rates are slightly higher for children who are not yet potty-trained.

5. The Vine Learning Center

Website:https://www.thevinelearningcenter1.com/
Address: 2130 Ulric Street
Contact: (858) 304-7723
Hours: Monday-Friday, 6:30 AM – 5:30 PM
For parents who need flexibility, The Vine Learning Center accepts infants as young as six weeks old. They even offer drop-in care options that don’t require long-term commitments, which can help freelancers or families with irregular schedules.
Their infant care focuses on gentle emotional engagement and floor playtime, which feels thoughtful for very young children. I also like that they guarantee children will be fully potty-trained before moving to the next program level.
Another plus is that the center accepts various subsidy programs, which can make tuition more manageable. It can also be useful if you’re comparing tutoring services orswimming lessons in San Diego for older siblings.
Just a heads up: meals aren’t included in the standard price and require an extra weekly fee, so it’s best to prepare for that.

The teachers and staff are very nice, patient and caring
The Vine Infant center has taken wonderful care of both of my children. The teachers and staff are very nice, patient and caring, which is most important for a daycare imo. The center directors Ms. Samantha and Ms. Jaliva are great.

My daughter has been going here for the last 2 years and I cannot thank The Vine Learning Center enough! She was a introvert before this and after her first month of being there she really blossomed. Miss Lizzie and the whole staff really do care about their commitment to building long lasting relationships with their students. Thank you and I recommend this place for anyone looking for Daycare/Childcare in San Diego, CA.
