The 5 Best Furniture Stores in San Diego to Update Your Home

We extensively test and research all services we review. Here's why you can trust us.

Product Variety: We looked for showrooms offering a wide range of styles to fit different homes. That makes it easier to find something that matches your space instead of forcing you to look into every room.

Pricing: Options for different budgets mattered a lot in this review. We wanted stores that offer clear value, whether you are buying one accent chair or a full living room setup.

Material Quality: We paid attention to how sturdy the pieces seem and whether the stores carry durable fabrics, wood, and finishes. Furniture is a long-term purchase, so construction quality carries real weight.

Delivery Options: Getting heavy items home is often the hardest part of shopping. Stores with dependable delivery, setup, or white-glove service stood out because they remove a lot of stress.

Customer Experience: We also looked at how locals describe the in-store experience. Helpful staff, fair policies, and smooth issue handling make a big difference once you are ready to buy.

Moving to a new place or updating your current setup is super exciting, but figuring out where to shop can be a bit overwhelming.

Finding the right furniture store in San Diego means balancing your budget with that breezy coastal look we all love.

To help make your shopping easy, we spent some time checking out local showrooms to find the best spots for every vibe. Whether you need a quick apartment refresh or are doing a total home makeover, these local shops have you covered.

So, let’s explore some of my absolute favorite places to grab a new sofa or a cozy bed without the usual shopping stress.

How much does furniture cost in San Diego?

Furnishing a place in San Diego can range from $189 a month for rental packages to $30,000 for a whole-house setup, depending on the type of pieces and how much of the home you are outfitting.

Item or ServiceAverage Cost
Whole House Setup$10,000 – $30,000
Living Room Setup$1,500 – $25,000
Dining Room Setup$2,500 – $5,500
Monthly Rental Packages$189 – $499
Local Upholstery Repairs$720 – $1,005

1. Living Spaces

Website: https://www.livingspaces.com/

Address: 8730 Rio San Diego, Mission Valley

Contact: 1 (877) 266-7300

Hours: Monday-Sunday, 10:00 AM – 9:00 PM

Shopping with kids in tow is usually stressful, but this massive showroom actually makes it easier with an adult-supervised Kids Fun Room.

Living Spaces stands out because you can browse the dedicated Sleep Center and large in-store Design Center while the little ones stay entertained.

We stopped by to look at their selection and liked how easy it was to compare upholstery options in person. The California-inspired room vignettes also make it simple to picture how a sofa, bed, or dining set might work at home.

The catch is pickup and loading. If you’re taking large pieces home yourself, coordinating with the warehouse can take time on busy weekends, so it helps to plan ahead.

Pros

  • In-store upholstery Design Center
  • Dedicated mattress Sleep Center
  • Adult-supervised kids play area
  • Coastal room vignettes

Cons

  • Slow loading for large items
  • Busy weekend pickup process

Excellent experience

Excellent experience and prices at Living Spaces. I had an amazing interior decorator help me pick out my new living room furniture. He was so knowledgeable and friendly. Also their prices are some of the best, I shopped around at four other places first before deciding to go into Living Spaces and I sure am glad I did.

No-stress shopping

It’s so nice to walk into a furniture store and not get jumped on by a salesperson. Plenty of employees around to ask questions. We were allowed to walk around and take in the whole store without being followed around and stopped every 5 seconds with a sales speech.

2. Modani Furniture San Diego

Website: https://www.modani.com/

Address: 1530 Camino De La Reina #C-2

Contact: (619) 695-2020

Hours: Monday-Saturday, 10:00 AM – 8:00 PM; Sunday, 11:00 AM – 7:00 PM

Putting together a sleek, contemporary space requires the right pieces, and this spot on Camino De La Reina nails that ultra-modern look.

Modani Furniture San Diego stands out for business-to-business (B2B) turnkey services. This can help real estate developers or property owners furnish multiple rooms at once.

If you’re doing a major flip and already working with masonry contractors in San Diego, their free three-dimensional (3D) design services can make it easier to visualize the final setup.

They also host after-hours events where industry pros can preview new collections early.

Just keep in mind that the catalog leans heavily into modern aesthetics. If your house has a cozy farmhouse feel, you probably will not find much here that fits your style.

Pros

  • Free three-dimensional (3D) design services
  • Business-to-business (B2B) turnkey solutions
  • Trade programs for pros
  • Exclusive after-hours events

Cons

  • Strictly modern inventory
  • Not ideal for farmhouse styles

Great people, great furniture

Hello to everyone, I would like to say I love Modani furniture. Great people, great furniture. But I would like to say thanks to Daniel, great customer service skills, greeted me as soon as I walked in the store. This person is great!

Their furniture is so stylish

Modani is an excellent retailer, their furniture is so stylish and fits the vision that we’re going for with our new home. John Grimm at the Mission Valley store location is incredibly helpful and thoughtful in his recommendations for pieces. Could not recommend Modani more.

3. Mor Furniture for Less

Website: https://www.morfurniture.com/

Address: 6965 Consolidated Way

Contact: (858) 321-6932

Hours: Daily, 10:00 AM – 8:00 PM

Sticking to a strict budget is tough when furnishing a home, so a store with a solid price-match policy can be a huge relief.

Mor Furniture for Less stands out with its double-the-difference lowest price guarantee, which is helpful if you’re comparing similar pieces around town.

A friend of mine bought a large sectional here and liked that the SafeMor protection plan covered a major spill not long after delivery.

They also offer affordable white-glove delivery, so you can let the team handle the setup instead of wrestling with heavy boxes yourself.

The main thing to watch is financing. Their zero-interest offers can be useful, but missing the payoff date may trigger steep retroactive interest.

Pros

  • Lowest price guarantee
  • SafeMor damage protection
  • Affordable white-glove delivery
  • Custom fabric options

Cons

  • Strict financing terms
  • Retroactive interest risk

Nina was truly heaven sent. This was my first time shopping for furniture, and she walked around the store with me multiple times, showing me different products and answering questions. She then spent additional time helping me meet the discount price, while maintaining the most lovely and polite demeanor through it all.

We will be back

Nick Shandick is an amazing salesman at the Miramar location. He helped my family and I as we browsed through the floors. He was very helpful and made our experience not overwhelming at all. Great salesman, great prices and great overall experience here. We will be back for our furniture needs.

4. Woodbridge Interiors

Website: https://www.woodbridgeinteriors.com/

Address: 7480 Miramar Road Suite B106

Contact: (858) 578-4900

Hours: Monday-Saturday, 10:00 AM – 5:00 PM; Sunday, 11:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Achieving that effortless coastal look takes a good eye, and the dedicated interior design team at this Miramar Road showroom can help with the guesswork.

Woodbridge Interiors curates a polished shopping experience. It offers solid wood furniture, handmade details, and plenty of traditional pieces with ornate woodwork and plush fabrics.

We like that the showroom feels styled enough to spark ideas without making every room look the same. It’s a strong pick if you want guidance while choosing living room, bedroom, or dining pieces.

The downside is the schedule. Since the showroom closes at 5:00 PM every day, stopping by after a standard office job can be difficult unless you plan around it.

Pros

  • Dedicated interior design team
  • High-quality solid wood pieces
  • California Casual styles
  • Ornate traditional designs

Cons

  • Early 5:00 PM closing time
  • Hard to visit after work

Very well organized

Beautiful furniture in a very well organized and well managed store. You will find what you are looking for in their large store in Mira Mesa which has a wide variety of gorgeous options. Our salesperson Terry was so helpful and not pushy. He even came to our house to make sure that our purchase would work.

Very positive experience

Shopping at Woodbridge was a very positive experience, thanks to Jessica Hood for all of her help. She was very professional and accommodating. Jessica was able to answer any and every question we had, and offered many suggestions to help us find what we needed.

5. Hold It Contemporary Home

Website: https://holdithome.com/

Address: 1570 Camino De La Reina

Contact: (619) 295-6660

Hours: Monday-Saturday, 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM; Sunday, 11:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Upgrading your home with investment pieces feels exciting, especially when you find Italian-crafted modern designs that prioritize both comfort and style.

Hold It Contemporary Home curates a gallery of luxury brands like Calligaris and Gamma Arredamenti. It also has custom rugs, premium leather seating, and bespoke accessories.

If you’re doing a larger renovation and already looking at roofing companies in San Diego for the exterior, their personalized design consultations can help the interior feel just as intentional.

The showroom is easy to spend time in because the pieces feel more like gallery items than basic stock.

The tradeoff is price. Since the store focuses on high-end artisan craftsmanship, it is not the best fit if you are shopping on a tight budget.

Pros

  • Italian luxury brands
  • Bespoke home accessories
  • Premium leather collections
  • Personalized design consults

Cons

  • Very expensive pricing
  • Limited fit for tight budgets

Amazing collection of modern furniture

Hold It has an amazing collection of modern furniture and display pieces for the home. Customer service is off the charts! I will definitely visit the store again for all my home needs and gift options.

One of the best

Always a great experience. We are on a mission to add some new pieces and Dwayne helped us today explaining new items, trends, materials and shared ideas and tips. The furniture are one of the best you can find in San Diego. Thank you, Dwayne and Hold It.
