I spend a lot of time eating my way through this city, looking for those bold, fiery flavors that make you sit up.
San Diego has a fantastic food scene, but finding an amazing plate of noodles can be tough. Sometimes you want a quick takeout meal after hitting up local breweries. Other times, you need a great spot to feed a big family or look into catering for a party.
I tracked down the best Thai restaurants in San Diego to satisfy your curry and other savory cravings.

| Menu Item Category | Price Range |
| Appetizers | $8 – $11 |

1. Bahn Thai

Website: https://www.bahnthai.net/
Address: 4646 Park Blvd, Ste 3, San Diego, CA 92116
Contact: (619) 299-6363
Hours: Monday — Thursday 11 am — 10 pm, Friday — Saturday 11 am — 11 pm, Sunday 4 pm — 10 pm
Finding a spot that honors refined culinary styles is a rare treat for local food lovers. Bahn Thai focuses heavily on conserving traditional Thai royal cuisine alongside ancient family recipes passed down through generations.
The experienced owners ensure you get an authentic dining experience that highlights lesser-known regional tastes alongside your favorite staples.
The menu makes it incredibly easy to dine here since it features extensive accommodations for vegan and gluten-free guests.
However, some people notice that the kitchen can be a bit stingy with protein portions in the noodle dishes. Paying extra for add-on ingredients can also make the final bill feel a bit high for the amount of food you get.

Sells amazing Thai food!
Neat little cafe that sells amazing Thai food!! Drunken noodles were delicious with well cooked and tender duck, and had a good amount of kick at medium spice level. Pad Thai with beef was great as well, providing that unique combination of sweet and sour so characteristic of this Thai dish. It might not be the best Thai restaurant I have been to, but so far the best I found in San Diego. Definitely recommend!!

Not your ordinary Thai food!
This family-owned restaurant is casual and trendy and truly a “hole-in-wall,” serving up delicious, and not your ordinary, Thai food! VERY busy, so that speaks to its popularity! It offers only a few outdoor tables that are first come, first served. There is no indoor seating, so it’s best to plan for takeout. Or, you might get lucky like us and snag a table to enjoy your food and people-watching! It’s definitely worth checking out! 😉😋😋😋

2. So Good Thai Cuisine

Website: https://sogoodthaicuisine.com/
Address: 3960 W Point Loma Blvd Ste F, San Diego, CA 92110
Contact: (619) 224-4871
Hours: Every day 11:00 am – 3:00 pm & 4:00 pm – 9:00 pm
Craving traditional Thai favorites in the Point Loma area usually leads straight to this specialized neighborhood spot. So Good Thai Cuisine’s extensive menu centers purely on classic staples like noodle bowls and rich curries instead of mixing in other Asian cuisines.
I stopped by last week for lunch and loved how fast the kitchen prepared my order.
The restaurant offers direct online ordering on their website, which makes grabbing takeout simple and quick.
On the downside, a few dishes like the green curry can taste a bit too sweet or mild for traditional tastes. Some menu images also don’t perfectly match the actual food presentation you receive.

The seafood was very fresh
Cute little restaurant serving top notch drunken noodles and other Thai cuisines.
Their drunken noodles were so full of flavors, they are way better than the versions from other outlets around here. The seafood was very fresh in the glass noodles (Yum Woon Sen). The Ka Prao stir fried vegetables were very good, too. The steamed rice that came with it was moist and flagrant. Yum!

Top-quality Thai food
It’s our first time here and we loved it!
I’m from Sydney, Australia where we’re accustomed to top quality Thai food. So I’m extra happy to taste their authentic Thai flavors!
We had fish cakes (so fresh and yummy) as an appetizer and then (see photo for the 2 mains) Pad See Ew with crispy pork and Spicy Thai Basil. They are all so delicious!
The restaurant also has such a clear positive feel and our waiter is warm, friendly and attentive.
We will definitely be back soon!

Just keep in mind that the portions can feel a bit modest for the price, especially compared to nearby spots. A few customers have also faced occasional disorganization and delays when picking up their food during busy dinner rushes.

Everything came out hot and tasty
As someone who used to live in Thailand, this is one of my favorite Thai restaurants in San Diego! I learned about it from its sister restaurant, Thai Test Kitchen in Sorrento Valley which is another one of my favorites. The Thai milk tea and Thai green tea were perfect and not overly sweetened as found in many other places in the states. We had the salmon choo chee, mhoo ping, and gai yang. Everything came out hot and tasty. The service was great and we had a lovely conversation with the owner. 10/10 would recommend!

Authentic Thai flavors
I had a great experience at Charoen Krung Thai Cuisine! I ordered the QQB pork with sticky rice, and it was absolutely delicious—flavorful, tender, and perfectly cooked. The staff were super friendly and welcoming, which made the whole visit even better. The service was quick and attentive without feeling rushed.
Overall, I highly recommend this spot if you’re looking for authentic Thai flavors and a warm atmosphere. I’ll definitely be coming back!

Diners who love intense, bold seasonings and incredibly fresh ingredients will feel right at home at this bustling restaurant. Thai Thae Cuisine focuses heavily on traditional Thai flavors while offering a large menu that covers all the major favorites.
My coworker told me that the rich curries here taste exactly like the ones she enjoyed during her travels.
The kitchen makes at-home dining simple with reliable online ordering and fast delivery options.
However, you should note that they also serve sushi alongside their Thai menu, which might feel distracting if you want a pure experience. Plus, the restaurant sits in a very small lot, so finding a parking spot can be tough during peak hours.

What I’ve come to expect from a great Thai spot
Great family-run restaurant.
Went out of my way to try this place and it did not disappoint. Did carry out for: Tom Kha, Massaman Curry, Chicken Satay and egg rolls- all were very flavorful and what I’ve come to expect from a great Thai spot.
Plus they had easy parking.
Check this place out!

The kitchen also places a heavy emphasis on organic ingredients to keep things clean and healthy.
Navigating dietary restrictions is a breeze since the menu clearly labels a wide selection of gluten-free options. It’s a fantastic spot for large groups thanks to their convenient party platters and catering choices.

Best Thai food I’ve ever had!
Best Thai food I’ve ever had!
I had the green curry and was blown away. It was so flavorful, creamy, fresh and had the perfect amount of spice. The tofu was delicious and of course the best part is that the restaurant is 100% vegan. The menu clearly labels glutenfree options and the staff is very friendly. It’s also very reasonably priced for San Diego. Can’t wait to come back!
