A friend of mine, who is naturally hairy, started experiencing constant skin irritation after switching to a more active routine that included early gym sessions and weekend hikes. Over time, these activities also made her feel more self-conscious and uncomfortable.
At first, she used at-home waxing kits because they seemed cheaper. However, it led to patchiness and redness. She ended up over-exfoliating and stacking skincare products too, but that only made her skin even more reactive and harder to manage.
I’m a wellness advocate and helped her find permanent makeup services before. So this time, she asked me for advice on where to find safe, reliable waxing services in San Diego.
After checking various reviews and service breakdowns, I made her a pretty handy list. So if you also want a safer grooming routine, feel free to check out our shortlist.
How much do waxing services cost in San Diego?
Waxing services in San Diego typically range from $15 to over $250. However, the final cost depends on the esthetician’s experience, the type of wax used, and whether packages or memberships are included.

Wax Haven is a small, focused waxing studio that leans into no-frills, pro-level waxing rather than trying to be a spa-style destination.
Brazilian waxing and full-body hair removal are their core strengths. Still, it’s handy that they offer add-ons like brow shaping and brow lamination, making them a one-stop shop.
A client we spoke with also praised their speedy appointments, which usually take under 20 minutes. There are strict double-dipping bans and sanitizing here too, reassuring us of their top-tier hygiene.
We appreciate that they maintain a transparent pricing structure. Their Brazilian wax is $50 for first-time clients (regularly priced at around $65). Meanwhile, brow waxing is $35, a brow and lip combo is $45, and a half-leg wax is $45.
When stacked against major corporate rivals and boutique salons in San Diego, their rates stand out as highly competitive.
This spot is accessible right off the freeway and offers ample parking as well. However, their location is tucked inside a secluded business park, requiring clients to navigate an outdoor center staircase to reach Suite 310.

They are known for their 15-minute Brazilian waxes, highlighting their focus on quick and efficient intimate waxing services.
Their premium add-ons are also notable, including high-end Korean keratin lash lifts and custom hydrojelly masks for added skin care.
Clients we spoke to also appreciate the single-owner setup with esthetician Cassandra. Her more personal, focused approach helps distinguish the salon from larger, more clinical spa environments.
In terms of pricing, they maintain separate menus for traditional waxing and all-natural sugaring services. Standard rates include a brow wax at $22, an underarm wax at $20, a full face with brows at $70, and a half leg wax at $45.
These prices compare favorably with those of larger corporate beauty chains and boutique salons in San Diego.

“Beachside Wax and Glow is the best! I went to Cass for my first Brazilian and I’ve been going to her consistently for a year and a half now. Cass makes you feel comfortable, safe, and at ease. Her space is cute, clean, and inviting. Cass has the best recommendations and tips, snacks, stress balls, and so much more to make the experience as comfortable and enjoyable as possible! I wouldn’t imagine going anywhere else!!”

They’re also known for blending full-body hair removal for both men and women. For us, their easygoing vibe makes it easy for more individuals to use their services.
In addition, their monthly membership plans and multi-service packages help reduce costs for repeat clients. With this, you can save anywhere from 20 to nearly 50% per visit.
Notable ones are their ladies’ brow wax priced at $25 per month and ladies’ Brazilian wax at $30 to $36 per month. On the other hand, the men’s back wax would be $30 per month, and the men’s Brazilian wax would be $50 per month.
Holding a subscription unlocks general studio discounts too. You can get 10% off any other added menu services and 10% off all in-studio retail and skincare products.
However, the catch is that you must commit to a 3-month minimum contract. Skipping a month or canceling early will trigger penalty fees that wipe out your initial savings.
Friendly, personable, and professional
“I really enjoyed the ambiance of the Normal Heights Elixr location. It’s flooded with light! Everyone I interacted with was friendly, personable, yet professional. The estheticians who did my treatments (Teyonna for my brows and Olive for my lashes) were AMAZING. So precise and thorough. I will definitely be back, and soon!”
-Christina VanderClute, Google Review
Very attentive and skilled
“I’ve been attending here since I was thirteen, and I’ve always had a relatively good experience, but this last time they really outdid themselves! If you have a specific brow vision in mind, I would recommend Tiana – I showed her a picture, and she really took her time mapping out the shape, explaining what parts of it would and wouldn’t work with my natural brow structure, checking with me what I wanted changed, and making more alterations after the first pass based on what I said. Very attentive and skilled!”

Sea Salt & Skin Waxing Salon is a women-owned, boutique waxing and skincare studio in Point Loma that mixes sugaring, waxing, lash lifts, and other services.
They’re also praised because of their gentle hair removal methods. The staff uses sugar wax, soft wax, and hard wax interchangeably, picking the best one for your skin type and body area.
When it comes to their fees, it’s pretty straightforward too. They distinguish between first-time appointments and regular upkeep.
Their initial Brazilian is priced at $54, which already includes full hair removal with a complimentary inner backside. Meanwhile, Brazilian maintenance is $47, and a standard bikini wax is $35. These fees are highly competitive within the area.

Extremely good at what she does
“This salon is so clean and inviting! I love the vibe here and the owner, Alyssa, is so kind and accommodating! She is extremely good at what she does and ALWAYS provides the highest quality service. She is the only esthetician I will ever see, and Sea Salt & Skin is the best waxing salon Point Loma! 10/10 would recommend! More”
